The only thing Chicago seems to have more of than churches are cemeteries. Walking through the city and driving through the suburbs you’re bound to pass at least 10 churches within fewer than 10 minutes. On every block there is a church. Out in the suburbs you can pass 2 sometimes 3 cemeteries in a row and different cemeteries across the street from one another. It’s a bit bewildering. The only thing more impressive is that each is absolutely beautiful. They’re old and classic with arches and stone and stained glass windows.
