Washington Square Park is the best representation of New York that New York has to offer. People of all different shapes and sizes pass through. A mix of the crazy, bohemian hippie past and the preppy collegiate present. Guys in suits and ties eating lunch on a bench next to a homeless couple sleeping. You’re met with complete strangers and familiar faces. A single day in the park you can watch a puppeteer, listen to a jazz band, watch an accomplished pianist, take in an acrobatic training, pass Daniel Day Lewis sitting and thinking, and creepily stare at the dogs in the dog run. It is perhaps one of the best, if not the best, places to people watch, sit with a book, and enjoy the City.
